Reiki For Horses
Although I work extensively with horses, Reiki can be beneficial for all animals, and the information below can be applied to many different pets and companion animals.
Horses are highly sensitive animals and can be deeply affected by their environment, experiences, physical health, and emotional well-being. Changes in routine, training, transport, injury, illness, trauma, or ageing can all influence a horse’s behaviour, confidence, and overall balance. Some horses may become anxious, tense, withdrawn, reactive, or unsettled, while others may simply benefit from time to relax and reset.
Reiki is a gentle, calming, and non-invasive therapy that many horses respond to naturally. Because horses are extremely intuitive and sensitive to energy, Reiki can provide a peaceful and reassuring experience that allows them to relax in their own time and space. Sessions are always carried out with patience, respect, and sensitivity to your horse’s individual needs and comfort levels.
I take time to understand your horse’s personality, history, behaviour, and any concerns you may have as an owner. Every session is tailored to the horse, allowing them to guide the process at their own pace, whether they are naturally curious and interactive or more reserved and cautious.
By working with positive healing energy, Reiki aims to support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall well-being. While every horse responds differently, Reiki may help support horses in the following ways:
Emotional Support
* Anxiety and stress
* Nervousness or tension
* Confidence and trust issues
* Trauma or past negative experiences
* Difficulty settling or relaxing
* Behavioural or emotional imbalance
* Stress linked to travel, competitions, or changes in routine
* Low mood or withdrawal
Physical Support
* Relaxation and recovery after exercise or competition
* Comfort during rehabilitation or recovery
* Support during the senior years
* Muscle tension and stiffness
* Joint discomfort and mobility issues
* Recovery following illness, injury, or veterinary treatment
* Stress-related symptoms
* General relaxation and well-being
Reiki works holistically, helping to encourage balance and harmony throughout the body and mind. Energy is channelled to where it is most needed, supporting your horse emotionally and physically in a calm and natural way. Reiki is not a replacement for veterinary treatment, but it can work very well alongside professional veterinary care as a complementary therapy.
