REIKI FOR DOGS
Although I work extensively with dogs, Reiki can be beneficial for all animals, and the information below can be applied to any pets.
Every dog is unique and can experience a wide range of emotional and physical challenges throughout their life. Some dogs are naturally sensitive or anxious, while others may be affected by trauma, illness, injury, changes at home, or simply the effects of ageing. These experiences can impact their behaviour, confidence, health, and overall well-being.
Reiki is a gentle, calming, and non-invasive therapy that many animals respond to naturally. Dogs are highly intuitive and sensitive to energy and atmosphere, which often makes Reiki a soothing and reassuring experience for them. Sessions are always carried out at your dog’s pace, with patience, care, and sensitivity. I take time to understand your dog’s individual personality, needs, and any concerns you may have as an owner, helping them feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable throughout.
By working with positive healing energy, Reiki aims to support balance, relaxation, and overall well-being. While every animal responds differently, Reiki may help support dogs in the following ways:
Emotional Support
* Anxiety and stress
* Separation anxiety
* Fear or nervousness
* Mistrust or lack of confidence
* Low mood or bereavement
* Hyperactivity or restlessness
* General behavioural concerns
Physical Support
* Relaxation and comfort during recovery
* Support during the senior or “twilight” years
* Pain and discomfort management
* Arthritis, stiffness, and joint issues
* Recovery after operations or illness
* Stress-related symptoms
* Allergies and skin or coat conditions
* Providing comfort alongside long-term health conditions
Reiki works holistically, helping to encourage the body’s natural sense of balance and well-being. Energy is channelled to where it is most needed, supporting your dog both emotionally and physically. Reiki is not a replacement for veterinary treatment, but it can work very well alongside professional veterinary care as a complementary therapy.
